Yes! I found a cockroach in my food. Can you imagine the reply of that lady (She is the owner I assume) with eyeglasses at the counter? "So what? It happens" WTF? I asked her what if it happens to be in her dal. I donno if she couldn't think of an excuse or what but she started shouting at me and my girlfren. The cockroach was in my Lassi and by the time I realized that we usually don't find anything chew able in lassi I chewed the half of it. (Yuck!) It still gives me goosebumps while writing that. above of this horrible experience that lady (not sure if lady is the right word for that HO). She was rude and insensitive. I wish I was there with my frens rather than my girlfren, would have messed up the whole place. Her fat, giant brother or whoever he is, was also there and couldn't shut up that b*tch. I certainly would like to compliant against them to the food inspector or whoever in charge, if there's one. Worst of the experience you can expect from anyone in Bangalore. The food was just ok. Ambiance is like my Grand Pa's room. dull light, smelly and congested with furniture. A strict NO NO! unless you are some bachelor who is living on your parents money and can't afford a good meal.

There was nothing WOW about the food, but was worth the price.Some work on the ambience could be done atleast whitewash the walls.

Place is just perfect for Homely and authentic north Indian food. Place is best for everyday foodies. Try it once and you will become regular visitor there. Once in a while couple don't go there for time pass as you will not find ambiance and peace. Place is very crowded during weekends.

HI , WE TRIED THE FOOD IN THIS RESTAURANT AS WE HEARD ALOT BUT ACCORDING TO ME ITS NOT ABOVE AVERAGE.CHICKEN MASALA WAS VERY SPICY AND TASTELESS ITS SEEMS LIKE A MESS RATHER THAN A RESTAURANT. IT HAS A VERY POOR AMBIENCE

FOOD at Desi Khana is really really yummy. I will say best in Koramangla. Highly recommended.

Desi Khana is the place for me whenever I am in bangalore. excellent food, nice place to treat your friends.

Nice food, Must try. homely food. Curries and kababs are awesome.

Tandoori chicken and Tangdi kabab are best here. Must try.

Curry is too good - try kadai paneer / paneer butter masala, dono hi mast hai

Desi Khana is best place to have great north Indian food. Food is awesome. Real nice experience. Must try once. Highly recommended.

This restaurant seems to be very high-fi but not good to have food :-( So i rate it as medium restaurant. You can go with your girl/boy friends to pass time.

It is a good restaurant. Having a great atmosphere for dinner at night. Large space for parking.

from past two month im in bangalore came for addmission in christ college,i was dyeing for pure ghar ka khana but i didnt got anywhere..those who are selling on the name of north indian food is actually prepared by local guys as i feel .. but on wednesday my friend and me were roaming then we show DESI KHANA and tried and i will tell to all that saala it was superb hai bhai,purely UP style , maaza aagaya.........

You must taste tandoori chicken and paneer tikka at Desi Khana. Its awsome. I have never tasted so soft paneer in bangalore and tandoori chicken was just amazing. Desi Khana is my first choice for north indian food and i strongly recommend it.

The food at this restraunt is not fresh i think since yesterday i orderered biryani and chicken tandoori both are the worst which i have eaten in my life .
Till today my stomach is paining
So my suggestion would be not to eat here ....

I just love Desi Khana, food is amazingly good and prices are really really reasonable. Their discount coupons if you get will further cut down your bill. i often treat my friends there. Strongly recommended. Come once and you will tempted to come again and again. Thats my challenge.

I am not net savvy but Desi Khana tempted me to write about it. I am a house wife who loves going out and explore different tastes. Coincidently I found this restaurant and gave a try. To my surprise it was first restaurant (as per my research) in bangalore where I got genuine north indian taste. I ate a lot (lot more than my appetite) since the taste was incredibly good. Probably, I must have added some extra pounds to me before leaving the place. Service and quality of food was also great. And the last thing which is the bill was also very reasonable. I loved the place and certainly go again and again. Home deliveries are also quite good. They maintain hygienic packaging and courteous service boys. I often order food from there and so I say that Desi Khana have made me lazy. My strong recommendation to Desi Khana. North Indians must give a try.

I went to Desi khana last weekend. Food was great. Authentic north indian taste which is very very very difficult to get anywhere in south India. So good to have desi khana in bangalore. They maintain good hygiene as what i felt. Service was also great. Infact, unfortunately i forgot my credit card in Desi Khana but thanks to them they carefully and safely kept it with them and gave it to me only after i showed them my identity card :( . So All my votes goes to Desi khana for taste, ambience, service, hospitalty. Worth visiting.

Although the food was tasty, the service was worst. The food was tasty but I did not find it hygenic. I would not recommend anyone to try in Desi Khana.

The food in desi khana is lajawaab and it gives purely north Indian taste. I recently visited there with my friends and tried some dishes there. Everybody liked the north indian taste. The price is also reasonable. The service is also good and I must say that its worth giving it a try.

I went to Desi khana yesterday. The service was good. I particularly liked the north indian food. The quality and taste of north indian food of Desi Khana supplements everything. I particularly like the tandoori chicken, fulka and dal tadka.

I would recommend everyone to try this restaurant if they want to try north indian taste.

I give my highest recommendation to Desi Khana.

Taste awesome, Ambience average and Service good.

It is tough to get right North Indian Food and rightly baked cripsy tandoori roti or naan in bangalore. For that reason, Desi Khana is quite good place to be.

We are largely Non-Veggie.


Chicken Malai Tikka tasted very good, but Murg Mussallam was awesome ... even all kababs there was good ... and all them are tandoor kababs which u find very hard to get in bangalore.

worst thing that we find there is the ambience.it is very average .. but after having food we wud never mind coming to this place again and again. and moreover rate is quite good .For 2 person average dinner comes to round Rs200.

Place worth coming again and again because of specialized north indian taste.


Overall for ensured reasonably good North India Food, it is OK to visit.

I went to Desi khana for a lunch. The place was badly lit and gave a very un-higenic feel.
The service was pathetic. I had to wait for around half an hour for a plate of daal tadka and some tava rotis.
Taste was average like any other road side dhaba.
The worst part of the lunch menu was "plain rice", the rice was dripping with water.
I had to really get up and leave.
Restaurent doesn't deserve to be in the listing of Hungry Bangalore.
