I was searching in web and when I heard about the train kind of dining I was very much interested to visit this place. I enquired all the details in a online food portal called Hungry Bangalore. That was really a useful information and I reserved the table over there through them itself. When we were in Sahib Sindh Sultan restaurant I was really shocked by the ambeience such a great creativity. I have no words to describe like how I felt when I saw the train and people dining inside them. Totally it was a new experience. Coming to the food , we had naan , Butter Kulchas with kadai chicken and in starters chicken lollipop. Both veg as well as non veg dishes tasted good. Finally we all had gajar halwa which was yummy. Even their pricing was also not very high , an average person can afford it twice or thrice a month. An average meal may cost you about 600 in Sahib Sindh Sultan restaurant.  ”

It was great too feel when me and my friends visited this Sahib sindh sulthan, We had very nice experience and we ordered for non veg starters and some gravies and biryanis. I was really impressed they were fast to serve, the food was great. Things I liked about them are- delicious food, fast service, innovative decoration, the place is very accessable and the price is reasonable. Their naans varieties are good, and starters are a tad expensive than the quantity served. The main course was quite good and sumptuous. And in main course the mutton Biryani is pretty good, their main course dishes pale slightly in comparision with their starters counterparts though. And the chicken masala was very tasty. It’s a good north Indian restaurant, and the menu here is a lengthy list and you have plenty of choice to make and finally the taste is awesome. Ambience wise, it is very good and the place was pretty good. The food is good, the quality and the quantity were perfect. And this Sahib sindh sulthan is really perfect for north Indian cuisine. Their starters are tasty and quite wholesome. In fact, one might even be finished with the food with just the starters. Overall, a very satisfied experience.  ”
rohit wrote “ The best place in bangalore to dine. The place is on the expensive side, but worth the money. Food is North Indian style, the chefs definitely are North Indian and know their stuff. Food is yummy. The ambience is great especially if you're inside the coaches (the restaurant is modelled on the first train from Mumbai to Thane) A must go if you are taking your better half or parents etc for a party. Try the kebabs. Cant stop praising the food quality and the overall experience. Plus the location is a plus. No hassles getting to Forum anytime. But beware, because its a great place you sometime need to do a booking !! I would rate it numero uno place to eat in Bengalooru for sure ”
juna wrote “ Hi Guys....Today i really feel like to write a review about Sahib sindh sultan. I am here in Bangalore for my Bsc nursing, i am originally from Nepal and my mum came along with me to settle me down in Bangalore .We had our Nepalese mother's day on 14th of April, Wednesday.i was lucky that i was with my mum so thought to give my mum some surprise .So the day before i planned to look for a good north Indian restaurant like a family kind restaurant. I had a look in the Internet and found sahib sindh sultan is quiet interesting with trains and all as i read the reviews in that hungrybanglore website. So i booked the table through them on Tuesday for dinner on next day.

And it was Wednesday we had to do some shopping, we went in that mall called forum as we had to be there at 7pm anyway. When we were done with our shopping, we went in second floor and got in the sahib Sindh Sultan it took about 15mins to be seated in the restaurant. As soon as we entered in Sahib Sindh Sultan we felt like we are traveling somewhere which was quiet nice. my mum said that was looking like 19th century station platforms, the decor of the waiting in a railway station, chhung chhung of the train noise in after few intervals, those shining stars on the celling it was looking really beautiful. The mirrors in between of platform and train was showing as if it was boundless. There were also occasional announcements about the departure of the trains which was more realistic for the situation. Not to forget, all the waiters in Sahib Sindh Sultan were also dressed as ticket collectors. They came with their smiling face and gave hot towels which we were feeling like we were in the Plane not in train!

Let's talk about the food now, we had a look of the menu. I was really interested to have their mock tail and cocktail(which was looking nice in neighbor's tables). But to respect of my mum(as i don't drink in front of my mum sussss!!)i just kept my mouth shut about alcohol and ordered something called jal jeera for me and mum had lassi, which was okey. I don't remember all the starters and meals but to name them. Sahib Sindh Sultan had something bhatti ka tikka,, something Gaddi (that was mushroom ), haidarabadi chicken dum biryani with very nice fragrant, and one chicken was their which had very nice wrapping of banana leaf which was nice and dal makhani was also great. And we had gulab jamun in dessert which was really lovely.

Over all we really enjoyed the food, ambiance and service even though it was quiet heavy for pocket. . My mum loved the place and she was happy to be there which was very important for me especially for that day. I would really love to visit Sahib Sindh Sultan again may be with friends next time as my mum already left for Nepal. And i will again thanks for guys in Sahib sindh Sultan for helping us to have great time.

If you are new to Bangalore and here for short time don't leave Sahib Sindh Sultan.......cheers ”
joy wrote “ Hello friends my name is Joy. I have been in Bangalore for about a year, doing my MBA, and stay very close to the Forum Mall. The first time when I came to Bangalore was for my GD n’ PI interview. It was over by 2.00pm. I asked people about a good north Indian restaurant and they told me about Sahib Sindh sultan at the Forum Mall. Alrite, I picked up my file and came to this train like place called as Sahib Sindh Sultan along with my friend, who was also from my native.

Our interview was done and we had already planned to stay back for our final result. Forum mall is cool, but we were feeling a little awkward in the dresses which we were wearing all formals. Its ok! We told to our self. Now we entered inside the Sahib Sindh Sultan. Got the table and sat. once we looked the menu, we were like what to do man. The menu is on the higher side. We looked at each other and decided to have party with both drinks and lunch. So we sat in a different section for the smokers. I am not a chain smoker, but an occasional one. But my friend is.

Let me tell you about the interiors at Sahib Sindh Sultan, Forum Mall. The restaurant looks like a train, seriously. The non- smoking zone looks like a train couch. To tell you more the waiters at Sahib Sindh Sultaan was dressed like a train ticker checker, the wall , the fans, the ceiling all was carefully planned by the management to gave you a real image that you are travelling in a train, with whistles blowing at regular interval of time. Sahib Sindh Sultan was not at all crowded at the time when we entered it, however there were few people sitting alongside, and in front of us, having fun. So the mood was set. We were looking for good north Indian food, the names in the menu looked familiar. We ordered for the starters which was accompanied along with the beer for both of us. As the climate was on a higher side, so we decided to go for the beer. We ordered for the starters as roasted chicken and kakori kebabs.

It took about 15 minutes and all the drinks and the eatables were there on our table at Sahib Sindh Sultan. The waiter was very polite and also intimated us that they would take about 15 minutes to place the order on the table and they did that. We were eagerly waiting for the food only. We don’t know where it went. I mean the food. It was yummy, the chicken roasted and the spices used were resembling the north Indian spices. I am a big foodie to tell you. Alrite now came the kebab. Man that was awesome too. We both were concentrating on the food only. However the quantity was not enough at Sahib Sindh Sultaan. But nothing can be done. The results were not out and we were already partying.

We both decided to go for another drink, and also placed the order for the main course. Man the food was good. I especially liked the kebabs. Alrite now after 12 mins I guess the main course was served in which we ordered for chicken tikka masala and roti. Guyz I am telling you if you want to taste good north Indian food, you have to try Sahib Sindh Sultan at Forum Mall.

Alrite, now we were done, the north Indian food which we had after the stressfull interview was great, the ambience was great too at Sahib Sindh Sultaan. We were thanking those person who showed us the way for forum mall and inside of the Sahib Sindh Sultan.

Now after 5 days the results were out. We got through the interview and have joined the college but never forget to come to Sahib Sindh Sultan at Forum Mall. We still remember the first time when we came to Sahib Sindh Sultan.

Guys In my opinion every north Indian and all those north Indian food lovers should go to Sahib Sindh Sultan at Forum Mall. And if on Saturdays, book your table well in advance. ”
supriya wrote “ We went to this place for a great evening, happily willing to spend as much for that!

Restaurant is good but not very extra-ordinary for this range of price! Places offering higher edge of prices are bound to maintain a comfortable ambiance.

We were satisfied with overall services and just about to leave when we realized something important in the bill.

Guys,
This place is charging 10% EXTRA as Service Charge on your bill. This is apart from VAT. Your total bill counts as: -

Bill = Food Total + 10% Service Charge + 12% VAT

When we inquired about it, the manager said that they are charging for lights, etc. Does this make sense???

They are already adding high range profits to each item in the menu. And over that, charging 10% on bill value!!! I found these rules extremely hoax. We visit a place and spend lavishly to truly enjoy. But this way, they are just making us drain money!!

Friends, just keep in mind their bill pattern while visiting next time.

After this experience, i would definitely study the bill value from next time before paying. ”
bobby khan wrote “ I went to the one in Forum mall. The Hostess was very rude and told us there is wait time only to find half the restaurant empty.

Even inside she refused to give us good tables, her excuse tables were reserved (half of the restaurant) at 10.00 pm.

I walked out and went to another restaurant. Who needs attitude...? ”
nikil wrote “ When I am in a mood for kakori kebabs and paneer tikkas the only place which comes to my mind is Sahib Singh Sultan. The fact that it`s a 5 minute drive from my place helps but I still prefer to book a table. I am not sure if I will ever choose to order food from here, I`d rather go and sit down here because I really love the decor it sets a mood As expected from the BJN group, the food is good and the service if equally good. ”
xavee wrote “ Having heard so much and never having a resrvation I made another attempt this week and succeeded in getting table for two at Sahib Sindh Sultan at Forum Mall in Bangalore.

My first impresssion was Wow for the ambience wich lasted just for a few minutes. The soup we ordered was excellent - Makai Sorba - but essentially a twist of home made herbal soup that I grudgingly drink at home called "kashaya"
The goodness part ended there. Rest of the food was attrocious. Roti wa horrible - my dog gets better stuff! We just had 3 rotis amongst two and a side dish called sepoy something and a starter called kali mirch chaat (extremely spicy!). The bill was Rs. 1095. The place where we were made to sit was horribly cramped my right elblow kept hitting the wall , my left one the next table folks and constatnly my knee touched the table under part. The table itself was so cramped and even with minimal order we had the waiter ws forced to keep our water bottle away (pout of reach!)

Paying Rs 1095, I was not expecting to go through this.

Compare this with my yesterday experience:

Two of us went to Maiyas in BTM Layout (its an of shoot of MTR). Had delicious Rava Idlis (one each) and unbelievably yummy Dosas (one each) and coffee in silver tumblers that very few can match in quality. The table was extremely spacious - the waiter very courteous and at the end of it all the bill Rs 105/= !

I HAVE DECIDED I WILL NEVER GO TO THESE OVER HYPED RESTAURANTS like Sahib Sindh Sultan and feel terrible again.

sumit wrote “ We wanted to go to a special place for our wedding anniversary - and we chose Sahib Singh Sultan (13th floor missed out thanks to the maddening traffic one has to move through from BTM to MG Road).....the reason being we "assumed" it must be a good place especially considering people take their clientele to the place - and it almost always remains fully booked and there is at least an hour's waiting time.

We booked through Hungry Bangalore - which turned out to be a right decision - because the booking was perfect (even though we were about 15-20 minutes late). It being a weekday, the crowd in was sparse and we were quickly taken to our table within the "train". Beautiful decor and dim lights welcomed us - and we were certainly all perky with our choice of destination.

Come menu - we cringed a bit thanks to the prices. It was in the center of the town, so probably they pay high rentals which they recover from the customers! 1 veg starter, 1 veg soup, 1 main course rice item, 1 veg curry and 1 sweet lime soda later - the bill was about 1200 bucks.....it definitely sounded expensive, considering the amount was meagre. The options available (especially starters) were less - and we conveyed it in the feedback. Non-veg spread seems a bit more expansive, however so are the prices!! We remained polite because they did the same - definitely they have learnt their courtesy and mannerisms :)

Overall ratings (scale of 1 to 5):

Food: 2
Ambience: 4 Lights can improve
Service: 5
Location: 5

Will we go there again - not on our own, ONLY if someone gives me a free meal :)

varkey wrote “ I loved the ambiance of the place. The food is good, prices are on the higher side of  "MY" budget, but reasonable for my "Company" budget.
If you have a Team Budget of around 750/- per person you can have a decent Non-Veg course. If you go for drinks add a 1 or 2 before the 750/-  ”

priyanka wrote “ Its one of my favorite fine dine restaurants(in terms of food, defnitely not for the service). Make sure you book a table well in advance because the place gets sold out sometimes even 3-4 days in advance(I have learnt it the hard way by trying to book a day in advance and then getting a refusal)....

Coming back to Sahib Sindh Sutlans food and ambiance..The silverware and polished glasses go well with the food. You should try the Kakori Kabab...

However, the service at the restaurant is not acceptable. They have 2 slots for dinner 7-7:30 and then at 9pm. We had a table at 7:30 pm but some friends came in little late thanks to Bangalore traffic. While we were waiting for them, someone or the other from the restauarnt kept asking as when they would be coming. After they came also, the restaurant staff kept asking us if we could leave by 9... Now this is heights.. u pay almost Rs.1200-1300 for a couple ... u atleast expect the restaurant to treat you well and not start asking you when you would leave the place...

I would rate Sahib Sindh Sultan like this:

Food: 4/5
Ambiance: 4.5/5
Service: 2/5
Value For Money: 3/5

ammu wrote “ If you are a food buff, if you are in Bangalore, if you like some royal treatment, if you like it vintage, and if put your taste buds ahead of your pocket...then Sahib Sindh Sultan is the place for you.

Designed as a railway compartment and platform of 17th Century style, this place offers an array of cuisines, each one better than other. I personally liked the North Indian dishes here. The taste was better than any other restaurant in Bangalore I have been to. And the ambiance is to die for. Imagine having a meal in a 17th Century railway compartment with waiters dressed as Ticket checkers, platform bell ringing after every finite interval of time and mouth watering dishes. Its heaven for food lovers.

The restaurant is on the higher side of the budget, especially if you accompany your meal with a cocktail, be ready to pay a neat amount of money. A meal for 2 may cost anything around Rs. 1000/-. But quality never comes cheap. ”
